Since the spring of 2001, the idea was born to have an organization, which attracts people for a happy gathering, rather than meeting only at sad occasions.
The founders of Caribbean Lagoon originate from several Caribbean islands, mainly Aruba, particularly those who lived in San Nicolas. Although they are mainly offspring of English speaking Arubans, no one was to be excluded.
Everybody who sympathises with our ideas is welcome to join and participate in our activities.
What We've Achieved
In the course of the years Caribbean Lagoon has attained acknowledgement from many different cultures living in Holland. Our events are well visited by people from many denominations and we always receive many compliments for our efforts.
We are also very happy to see that the younger people also enjoy our events.
Our organization has a close link with ‘Centro di Cuido’, the Senior Citizen’s Home in Aruba.
We have donated several goods that were needed in the home (wheelchairs, walkers, a sewing machine, air-conditioner and many more). We’ve collected base- and softball materials for the youth in Aruba and Saint Maarten.
In the last two years we organized activities for multi problem children from the Antilles.
We also visit our island people who come to Holland to undergo medical treatment.
Caribbean Lagoon aims to promote the mutual feeling amongst her members, sympathisers and their families, by organizing all kinds of activities, such as events, lectures, and a day for our senior citizens. Our yearly softball tournaments & BBQ is a must for many.
